Call it a powerful noise.
Since mid-October, a homeless shelter at Bathurst St. and Lake Shore Blvd. has been off the grid and powered by a generator. Encircled by condos and just steps from Little Norway Park, the generator is the size of a transport truck’s trailer, and it dominates a parking lot on Queens Quay.
Ingrid Buday told the that when she took her bike past the location one morning last week, there was no mistaking the noise from the intersection.
“I rode by there at 8 a.m. this morning, it was humming away,” Buday said. “It’s huge.”
