One person was taken to the hospital Sunday afternoon after two vessels collided into each other in Nixon Beach, authorities said.

According to the United States Coast Guard, they received reports from the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office that a 34-foot vessel collided with a 35-foot vessel near Nixon Beach.

Crews were then launched to the scene and gave first aid to a boater before they were transferred to a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Boat.

Fire Rescue said the person was taken to the hospital.

Their identity and condition were not released.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has taken over the investigation.
