CENTRAL ILLINOIS( 25News Now ) - After a tough season-opening loss on the road at Ohio, Illinois State came back home to CEFCU Arena and picked up their first win of the season 76-65 over Cornell, thanks to a breakout performance by freshman Ty’Reek Coleman.

The Waubonsie Valley grad scored twenty-four points, including 6-8 from the field and 10-13 from the charity stripe. Chase Walker added 13 points, while Landon Wolf added seven points and eight rebounds. They’ll start a two-game California trip Friday against USC, before a Sunday matchup at Long Beach State.

Round Two of the IHSA Football Playoffs has come and gone, and it’s onto the Quarterfinals with six schools from Central Illinois still alive.
