FOREST PARK — With subfreezing temperatures expected to arrive beginning later this evening into the overnight hours, the city of Forest Park has announced that it is opening a cold weather warming station to provide relief for individuals and families in need.

The Forest Park Recreation Center, 803 Forest Parkway, will be open to residents as part of the city's cold weather sheltering plan.

Doors will open beginning at 9 p.m. today, Nov. 9, and will remain open until 8 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 10. The warming station will reopen on Monday at 9 p.m. and remain open until 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

A freeze watch has been issued by the National Weather Service and is in effect from 1 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 10, for most of the metro Atlanta region. Temperatures are expected to reach
