Recent attempted child-snatching involved woman, who is said to have been disturbed, but several other incidents have traffickers’ hand

A newborn was nearly snatched from the maternity ward of Ghosha Hospital , Shivajinagar, in the early hours of last Tuesday, the third child-lifting incident reported under the Shivajinagar–Commercial Street police limits in a month. The infant was rescued when the complainant’s sister, her attender, raised an alarm as two women allegedly tried to carry the child away.

According to the FIR and the complainant’s statement, the mother had delivered a baby boy on November 3 and was admitted to the general ward on the first floor of Ghosha Hospital. Her sister was staying with her.
