SEATTLE, Wash. - The Seattle Seahawks made a statement routing the Arizona Cardinals 44-22 at Lumen Field. Seattle controlled the game from the first snap, quarterback Sam Darnold connected with Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a 43-yard touchdown on the opening drive. Smith-Njigba later went on to become the first player this season to reach 1,000 yards.
Seattle's defense contributed heavily, forcing a strip sack on the very next series that DeMarcus Lawrence returned for a touchdown. Lawrence repeated that before the half ended, the first player to have two defensive touchdowns in the first half since Jimmy Chinn in 2020.
