MANCHESTER, N.H. —
New Hampshire Sens. Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan helped lead negotiations on a deal to reopen the government.
Shaheen, Hassan and Maine Sen. Angus King worked on the agreement on behalf of Democrats.
The proposal would fund the government through Jan. 30, rehire federal employees, and ensure food stamps are funded through fiscal year 2026.

At least eight votes from the Democratic caucus are in favor of the negotiated deal, a source close to the deal told News 9.
If the bill passes the Senate, it will return to the House before being sent to President Donald Trump.
