About 1,500 Entergy Louisiana customers in Metairie were without power Sunday evening as a cold front brought gusty winds and cooler temperatures to much of the New Orleans metro area.
The outage was first reported at around 6:30 p.m. and mostly confined to the Bissonet Plaza area, according to Entergy's outage map. Restoration is expected by 9:30 p.m.
Entergy did not say what caused the outage, but forecasters with the National Weather Service of New Orleans said early Sunday morning that north winds with gusts of up to 35 mph are expected to continue through Monday.
