President Donald Trump has ordered the Department of Justice (DOJ) to investigate the “Big Four” meatpackers, who control the overwhelming majority of the nation’s beef products, for what he says is a history of “price fixing” and “illicit collusion.”

“I have asked the DOJ to immediately begin an investigation into the Meat Packing Companies who are driving up the price of Beef through Illicit Collusion, Price Fixing, and Price Manipulation,” Trump announced in a Truth Social post:
