COLUMBIA, S.C. — Authorities are investigating a Saturday night shooting in Columbia that left one person wounded.
A Columbia Police Department spokesperson said the shooting happened on Bailey Street, where officers arrived after receiving a "ShotSpotter" alert, which helps them locate the origin of gunfire.
Police arrived to find one adult male with a gunshot wound to the lower body. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. At this time, police believe the shooting was in retaliation for a previous fight. Authorities said multiple shots were fired and some bullets struck nearby apartments; however, no one else was hurt.
