The Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) has introduced significant changes to the production and release of big-budget films after its general body meeting in Chennai on Sunday. The council announced that high-budget productions will now follow a revenue-sharing model, requiring top actors and technicians to share both profits and losses with producers.
This decision comes amid concerns over diminishing returns from theatrical, OTT, and satellite revenue streams. According to the TFPC's press release, the objective is to protect theatrical revenue and adapt to the changing landscape of film consumption in Tamil cinema.
