EDISON, N.J. (PIX11) — More than 100 animals were found inside a New Jersey home Sunday afternoon. Most of the neighbors had no idea.
Edison police were responding to what they thought was a routine call for medical help at 12:57 p.m. But when they arrived at this house, they were so surprised by what they found.
Police said there was “an inordinate amount of small animals throughout the house” as well as in the basement. The total number, according to police, is 14 dogs, 60 chickens, 34 rabbits, nine pigeons and other assorted birds.
“Horrific living conditions with animals in the house,” Andrew Toth, Edison Fire Chief, told PIX11 News. “There were deceased ones and rats,” he added.
