STORRS, Conn. (WTNH) -- The University of Connecticut's Women's Basketball Team continued a strong season lead Sunday after unveiling the team's NCAA championship banner.

To a sold-out Gampel Pavillion, the huskies took the win from Florida State 99-67, with players Azzi Fudd and Sarah Strong cashing in a combined 44 points.

"I knew it was going to be a good game because Florida State last year did pretty decent, but obviously it's UConn," student William Gifford said. "UConn is going to take it every time."

Before players hit the hardwood, fans spilled into Gampel to celebrate the women team's 2025 national championship title banner.
