Bhubaneswar: Eight places in Odisha reported nightime temperatures below 15 degrees Celsius, marking a significant drop in temperature across the state.
The cold wave, fuelled by a dry and chilly air mass from northwest India, has gripped districts like Kandhamal, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Bhadrak, Angul, Keonjhar, Koraput, Kalahandi, Balangir, and Nabarangapur.
According to the regional Meteorological Department, Daringibadi recorded a low of 11 degrees Celsius, followed by Jharsuguda at 11.7 degrees Celsius.
The regional Meteorological Centre forecasts a further decline in temperatures by 2-3 degrees Celsius over the next two days, exacerbating the cold conditions in both hilly and plain areas.
