HUNTSVILLE, Ala. ( WAFF ) - A Huntsville woman was arrested for child abuse after putting a child in the dumpster, according to Huntsville Police Officials.

HPD officers were called to Venona Avenue on Saturday at around 11 a.m. after reports of possible child abuse.

Upon arrival, authorities said officers conducted an investigation that indicates that the woman decided to put a small child in a dumpster.

Seannay Mon’ea Spencer, 23, was arrested for willful torture, abuse, and abandonment of a child.

Authorities said the father of the child witnessed this event and was able to recover the child before any serious harm could be done. The child did suffer minor injuries.

Spencer is currently being held in the Madison County Jail.
