GREEN BAY — If there’s one thing Jordan Love loves when it comes to being the Green Bay Packers quarterback, it’s throwing the deep ball.

That’s also apparently the one thing opponents have decided they simply cannot let him do anymore.

If anything stood out from the team’s 16-13 loss to the Carolina Panthers last week — a game in which the Packers were 13.5-point favorites and playing at home — it was the way the Panthers played defensively.

They kept both of their safeties back almost the entire afternoon, forcing Love to take the short, underneath throws and the Packers offense to put together long, patient drives to reach the end zone.

They only got there once.
