The Detroit Pistons edged out the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday with a 111-108 victory at Wells Fargo Center. However, the biggest disappointment for the 76ers came from their rookie sensation, VJ Edgecombe.
The young star broke LeBron James’ 22-year record in his debut and had been delivering impressive performances. However, he couldn’t find his rhythm on Sunday.
Edgecombe finished the night with 11 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two stocks. Over his last three games, the rookie has shown signs of struggle. He has averaged 9.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.6 stocks in the last three games.
While those numbers might be decent for most rookies, they fall short of Edgecombe’s usual standard. The 76ers’ rookie recently climbed to the top spot in the NBA Rookie of the Yea
