New Hampshire Sens. Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan helped lead negotiations on a bipartisan deal to reopen the federal government.
Shaheen, Hassan and Maine Sen. Angus King worked on the agreement on behalf of Democrats.
The deal includes funding the government through Jan. 30, rehiring federal employees, and ensuring food stamps are funded through fiscal year 2026.
The broader legislation also includes three full-year appropriations bills, known as a minibus, that fund military construction and veterans affairs, the legislative branch, and the Department of Agriculture.
The deal does not include an extension of the expiring enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies. However, under the deal, Republicans have agreed to hold a vote on that measure next month.
