BENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WNDU) - No suspects are in custody after a shooting this week in Benton Township sent two people to the hospital.

According to our reporting partners at The Herald-Palladium , 55-year-old Phillip Mills and his wife were visiting from California on Monday evening.

After leaving the home of a friend, their vehicle was shot repeatedly with more than 50 bullets.

Mills was shot in the back while his wife was shot in the arm.

They continued to drive to a Walgreen’s parking lot until they were taken to the hospital. They have since been released.
