MILTON, Wis. (WKOW) – The hallways of Milton High School were filled with boxes, cans, bags, and wagons this past weekend. Sunday morning saw students sorting and counting thousands of donations for the "Milton Meals Matter" grocery drive.
The drive, initially started by the student council, quickly expanded to include teams, clubs, and staff from across the district.
"We figured, okay, we have a weekend we can work with. Get the clubs involved, get sports teams involved, get staff involved, get families involved," said Reanne Gilbert.
By the end of the drive, more than 10,000 food items had been collected. Reanne is a sophomore and member of the 2028 council.
