BATAVIA, N.Y. — Two people were taken to the hospital Sunday afternoon after a vehicle left State Route 5 and struck a Genesee County home.
The crash happened just after 2:30 p.m. Sunday at 3473 West Main Street Road in the Town of Batavia, according to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department. The East Pembroke and Town of Batavia fire departments and two Mercy Ambulances responded to the scene.
Deputies said the vehicle was traveling west on Route 5 when it went off the roadway and hit the house. The house sustained some damage near the porch but was structurally sound.
The sheriff's office said both occupants were taken to Erie County Medical Center with what were believed to be minor injuries.
