25 counties in the country could see anything from a dusting to piles of snow and even some chilly below zero spells as we head into the frosty festive season, according to new weather maps

Brits up and down the country will be buffeted by a massive Arctic blast later this month with 25 counties set to see widespread snow .

Weather maps from WXCharts , which use MetDesk data, showed much of the country facing a wintry turn from November 23 as chilly winds sweep across multiple counties. Scotland will bear the brunt of the huge chill as it makes its way down from the north.

According to the maps , the Highlands as well as parts of Aberdeenshire will see snow depths of between 18 to 20cm. The purple shading indicates snow will pile up from Inverness to Perth with some notable flurri
