NORTH KINGSVILLE — A controlled burn, designed to clear land for an erosion control project, turned into a bit of a block party Saturday along Lake Road.

Five fire departments were represented as a home that was designated for demolition was burned to the ground after being purchased by the Ohio Department of Transportation for an erosion control project scheduled to start in 2026.
