CHURCH VETERANS DAY: A Veterans Day Songs and Prayers for Peace service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St Paul Lutheran Church, 2860 E. Market St., Warren. The service will begin with a flag procession by the Boy Scouts of America. The event will be an opportunity to recognize our veterans, their service and sacrifice, and a prayer for peace in the evening as an alternative for those who cannot attend an event in the morning.

FIRST CHRISTMAS: The Howland Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the township administration building. There will be a program by Belinda Weiss, historian and director of the National McKinley Birthplace Memorial Museum in Niles, who will discuss the first year Christmas was celebrated on a grand scale under the reign of Henry VIII in 1509.
