The Schumer Shutdown may soon end, but we might have avoided it entirely had the Medicaid discussion been transparent.
More talk about who’s enrolled in Medicaid, what it costs, what people pay, and what gets paid for, rather than jumping ahead to catastrophic predictions and doom and gloom. Say what you want, it’s an inescapable fact that some governors, especially the ones in the Blue States, use it as a slush fund, dispensing federal funds disproportionately to the benefit of their political base.
