For the second day in a row, the Federal Aviation Administration has issued a ground delay for incoming flights to Nashville International Airport.

The airport first announced a ground stop just after noon Nov. 9, citing an air traffic control staffing shortage, and later updated that notification to a ground delay program.

Ground delay programs delay flights in order to manage traffic volume to airports with reduced arrival capacity, according to the FAA . As of 1 p.m., the delay is still under effect according to the airport's Facebook and Instagram pages.

That comes less than 24 hours since the FAA last issued a ground delay program at Nashville's airport . The Nov. 8 delays, also due to the shortage in air traffic control staffing, began around 2:30 p.m. and continued for about
