Super Typhoon Fung-wong, known locally as Uwan, made landfall yesterday and was expected to be the biggest storm to hit the country this year.
The powerful storm, with a radius which spans nearly the whole of the archipelago, slammed into its east coast only days after Typhoon Kalmaegi killed more than 220 people, prompting President Ferdinand Marcos Jr to declare a state of emergency.
