The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is warning parents and caregivers about a multistate outbreak of infant botulism linked to ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula. Health officials urge families to immediately stop using and discard the recalled product.
One infant in Los Angeles County has been diagnosed with botulism associated with the outbreak and was hospitalized but is now recovering. Nationwide, 13 confirmed or suspected cases have been reported across 10 states since August 2025. All affected infants were fed ByHeart Whole Nutrition formula, according to federal health authorities. No deaths have been reported.
