Temba Bavuma had earlier sustained a calf strain and missed out on the start of South Africa's World Test Championship (WTC) title defence during the two-match Test series in Pakistan

Ahead of the first Test match against Team India, South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma was the last to join the senior squad on Monday.

Earlier, the first batch of the Proteas, including head coach Shukri Conrad, Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen, and other players, arrived on Sunday.

"Bavuma, along with another player and a few officials, arrived this morning from Bengaluru. Most of the squad, including the head coach, had already checked in on Sunday," the South Africa team's local manager told PTI.
