Farmers storm PU campus with tractors; Police fail to contain protest;Watch Video

Chandigarh, November 10, 2025: Tensions escalated at Panjab University (PU) on Monday as protesters demanding Senate elections breached security and entered the campus with tractors, despite the heavy deployment of nearly 2,000 Chandigarh Police personnel.

The massive demonstration, called under the banner of “PU Bachao Morcha,” saw thousands of students and farmers breaking through barricades at Gate No. 1 near PGI earlier in the day.

Chandigarh SSP Kanwardeep Kaur personally tried to control the situation but was unable to stop the swelling crowd as they forced their way in.The protesters have been demanding that the university administration immediately announce the dates for elections
