JONESBORO -- Arkansas State suffered its first setback since Sept. 27 on Saturday, dropping its four-game winning streak in losing 27-21 loss to Southern Miss in a battle for first place in the Sun Belt Conference West Division at Centennial Bank Stadium.

The Golden Eagles (6-2, 5-0 Sun Belt Conference) intercepted five passes, bringing their total to an FBS-high 20 for the season, and recovered a Chauncy Cobb fumble on the first play from scrimmage of the game.

Southern Miss cornerback Josh Moten accounted for three interceptions. He picked off Raynor twice in the first half and Josh Flowers in the third quarter. Moten brought his total to five interceptions this season, which puts him in a tie with seven others for the most in the nation.
