Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today emphasised that India achieved defence production worth around 1 lakh 51 crore rupees in the year 2024-25, with Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) contributing 71.6 per cent of the total. The Minister made these remarks after inaugurating the Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) Bhavan, a state-of-the-art central facility at the World Trade Centre in New Delhi. He said that Defence exports reached 6 thousand 695 crore rupees, underscoring global confidence in India’s indigenous systems. He added that this clearly indicates that Made in India defence products are gaining global respect. Mr Singh also urged the DPSUs to enhance research and development (R&D), indigenisation, and exports to make India a global defence hub.
