Sad news coming from Dedza District Hospital, where officials have confirmed that two people have died and three others are receiving treatment following a fatal road accident that occurred last night at Kalinyeke in Dedza.

According to the hospital’s Public Relations Officer, Mwai Liabunya, the two victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while the injured passengers were rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

Preliminary reports suggest that the victims were returning from Lilongwe, where they had attended the much-anticipated FDH Cup final match between Mighty Wanderers and Silver Strikers.

Authorities are yet to release the names of the deceased as investigations continue.
