Morrisons has announced the shutdown of 145 outlets, encompassing 17 Daily Stores and 52 cafés. The bulk of the daily convenience shop shutdowns have already occurred, whilst additional cafés, Market Kitchens, pharmacies and florists may shut their doors before the year concludes.

The supermarket's Chief Executive, Rami Baitieh, commented: "In most locations, the Morrisons Cafe has a bright future, but a minority have specific local challenges and in those locations, regrettably, closure and re-allocation of the space is the only sensible option. Market Street is a beacon of differentiation for Morrisons and we remain committed to it.
