After years of controversy due to waitresses baring too much skin when it comes to their revealing outfits, Hooters ’ original founders are reclaiming the chain and reintroducing a new, more modest look.

With that in mind, their goal is to restore the chain’s beachy atmosphere without the overexposure.

More than 40 years after opening their first restaurant, the original Hooters team officially took control of the brand once more. Hooters Inc., the company led by the chain’s original founders, has bought back Hooters of America, putting an end to a tumultuous bankruptcy period that caused dozens of locations to shutter their doors.

Commended for the comeback is Niel Kiefer, a lawyer who has helped shape the brand since the early ‘90s.
