While most of the state's playoffs teams have spent the past few days preparing for its regional quarterfinal opponent , Region 1-2A has been suspended in limbo as it awaits a judge's final decision on The First Academy's playoff eligibility.
Less than two hours before the playoff brackets were to be announced on Nov. 6. Orange County Judge Margaret H. Schreiber signed an order to temporarily lift The First Academy's postseason ban .
The FHSAA opted not to release the Region 2 bracket as a result.
A hearing is scheduled in the case at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 10, which will determine if The First Academy can in fact compete for a state championship or if the FHSAA's ban will be upheld.
