Poet, lyricist, and screenwriter Javed Akhtar recently reflected on the importance of tolerance. In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in , the 80-year-old responded to singer Lucky Ali, who had called him "never original" in reference to an old video of Akhtar speaking about Hindu-Muslim dynamics that recently resurfaced online.

Akhtar, who was in Delhi to hold a session on songwriting at the Soundscapes of India event, said he was happy that Ali could have an opinion. "Now, I must take Lucky Ali's opinion with a pinch of salt. I should accept it. Although I don't agree with it. But anyway, I'm happy to know that he has opinions. That's wonderful," he said.
