Airlines and airports around the United States are scrambling. Southwest Airlines' busiest airport , Denver International Airport, was one of the 40 airports added to the Federal Aviation Administration's list of flight reductions. Because of the decrease, Southwest has been forced to cancel hundreds of flights, leaving passengers stranded for hours due to delays over the weekend.

Even the likes of Delta Air Lines, which held steady during the government shutdown, suffered their worst days over the weekend due to both cancellations and delays.
