When Yael turned 11, he started having nose bleeds. Speaking with a clogged nose, he said, “I felt my ears getting hot. It made me feel sick to my stomach. I did not feel well at all.”

Yael’s parents, Lidia and Deybid, took him to several specialists. The nose bleeds continued. His mother said, “Doctors couldn’t diagnose the problem, and we got scared.”

The nose bleeds became more frequent. Yael’s dad recorded a video to show the doctors of his son bleeding onto the floor. Another day, his nose bled like a waterfall. His parents found him passed out in a pool of blood and rushed him to the hospital.
