Fort Payne police are investigating a domestic incident that left two people dead and one in custody.

Officers responded to a shooting on Sunday in the area of the 1300 block of Alabama Avenue NW.

News Channel 9 reported that the shooting occurred in a housing authority community. The two victims were suffering from gunshot wounds when first responders arrived. CPR was administered, but both victims were pronounced dead on the scene.

Police said the suspect was taken into custody in another jurisdiction. The identity of the suspected shooter has not been released.
