(Pierre, SD) — The South Dakota Department of Social Services says SNAP benefits will not be going out today. The news overrides a statement from the agency on Friday that payments would be distributed. The DSS website states distribution of SNAP benefits are paused due to the US Supreme Court’s administrative stay on a lower court’s ruling issued Friday evening. The DSS website also says they’re awaiting further instructions from Food and Nutrition Services on how to proceed.
