When a photo of a teenager in a fedora and vintage waistcoat standing calmly near police officers during the Louvre Museum heist went viral, the internet was hooked.
Some speculated he was an undercover agent, while others believed he could be an AI-generated figure.
Now, the mystery has been solved. The teenager is 15-year-old Pedro Elias Garzon Delvaux, who came to visit the Louvre with his mother and grandfather and was captured by the AP photographer in a now-famous photo, according to The Guardian.
Pedro is an avid fan of Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot. He lives with his parents and grandfather in Rambouillet, a town about 30 km (19 miles) from Paris.
“We wanted to go to the Louvre, but it was closed. We didn't know there was a heist,” Pedro said.
