NEW YORK (PIX11) – Gov. Kathy Hochul promised to "continue fighting" for SNAP recipients after the Supreme Court ruled that the Trump administration didn't have to issue full payments for the program late Friday.
Hochul initially announced earlier that day that all state agencies would distribute full SNAP benefits in November, writing on X:
"I've just directed state agencies to fully fund federal SNAP benefits for November. President Trump's actions have been senseless and un-American. I'll never stop fighting for New York's families."
New Yorkers were originally expected to get partial SNAP benefits after two federal judges ruled that the Trump administration must pay for the program. One of the judges ruled that the federal government has to fund SNAP fully in November, but an appeal
