SEATAC, Wash. — The ongoing government shutdown is continuing to impact passengers at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), resulting in hundreds of delays and cancellations over the weekend.

Nearly 40 flights out of SEA were already canceled early Monday morning, with an additional 1,400 nationwide. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) made the decision to scale back flights last week amid the ongoing government shutdown to ease the strain on air traffic controllers and TSA workers, who are currently not getting paid.

According to FlightAware, there were 206 delays and 28 cancellations at SEA on Friday, 171 delays and 39 cancellations on Saturday and 198 delays and 70 cancellations on Sunday.
