Delhi: A powerful explosion near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi on Sunday evening killed at least eight people and injured several others, according to hospital sources. The blast happened close to Chandni Chowk and caused panic in the area. Eyewitnesses said it was “the loudest explosion they had ever heard.”
Deputy Chief Fire Officer A.K. Malik said they received a call about a blast in a car near the metro gate. “We responded immediately and sent seven fire units to the spot. The fire was brought under control by 7:29 PM. There may be casualties, and all our teams are at the site,” Malik told ANI.
