At the Depot in downtown Duluth, the Spirit Valley Drum and Bugle Corps; the Superior Senior High School choir; a singer for the national anthem, Aalyiah Gebhardt; a keynote speaker, U.S. Navy veteran Bob Stephens; and even a bagpiper are all scheduled.

At Stowe and St. James elementary schools, historic American flag ceremonies are planned, followed by q-and-a sessions between veterans and students.

At the University of Minnesota Duluth, cadets from the Air Force ROTC always stand guard at the flagpole outside the Darland Administration Building for 24 hours.

And Applebee’s and other businesses are again offering discounts and freebies to veterans.
