New Delhi: Witnesses described scenes of chaos and panic after the car explosion near Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi on Monday, with body parts strewn across the road and multiple vehicles consumed by flames in quick succession.

The blast was reported at the site of a car, suspected to have been parked near a traffic signal, at 6:50pm near Gate No. 1 of the metro station. It set off a chain reaction, engulfing at least seven other vehicles, including a small truck and an e-rickshaw.
