Grant Aviation says it will be forced to reduce flights between Anchorage and Kenai by 10 percent under a new emergency order from the federal government.

In a statement released Friday, the regional carrier said the Federal Aviation Administration has directed an immediate 4 percent reduction in service, increasing gradually over the next 10 days until the 10 percent cut is in full effect by November 14.

Grant officials say they are evaluating flight schedules to minimize disruptions and will contact affected passengers directly by phone, text, or email to rebook or issue refunds. The airline emphasized that the cuts apply only to flights traveling to and from Anchorage and will not affect any other routes across Alaska.
