TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- A bicyclist has died after colliding with a milk tanker truck in Tulare County, California Highway Patrol says.

CHP was called to the area to respond to a collision near Drive 60 and Avenue 328 north of Goshen around 4:40 a.m. on Monday.

When they arrived, officers determined that the bicyclist was riding northbound on the centerline of Drive 60 north of Avenue 328 when the truck approached the bicyclist from behind.

The driver attempted to avoid a collision with the cyclist by veering to the right and onto a dirt shoulder.

As the truck was passing, the bicyclist veered to the right, hitting the left rear fender of the milk tanker.
