A 21-year-old man was critically injured Saturday night after being shot twice in the back outside a Mount Vernon residence, according to officials.

Officers responded around 10:21 p.m., Nov. 8, to reports of gunfire near a residence on Karen Drive, off Sheppards Lake Road East and just north of Sam Jones Avenue, where they found Geremy Perryman suffering from two gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital and remains in critical but stable condition, police said.
